Background
Capital Rx is a pharmacy benefits manager that oversees prescription drug benefits for unions, health systems, health plans, employers, and government entities across the pharmacy ecosystem. They seek to eliminate a controversial practice of secretive rebating and drug spread pricing that many other pharmacy benefit managers engage in. Instead, Capital Rx employs a transparent and flat pricing model to define drug cost for any prescription claim. To execute this vision, Capital Rx introduced JUDI®, a cloud-based solution to handle all pharmacy benefits operations. As a lead designer, I was responsible for developing the financial tools within the platform.
Approach
The product team focused efforts on conducting stakeholder interview sessions with internal and client operation teams to define current pain points and identify needs for feature integrations. We involved both front-end and back-end engineers early in the discovery process to foresee any challenges with implementation given the existing code infrastructure. We designed and developed data visualization charts to capture company metrics and performance with its clients. Additionally, we enhanced forms that originally introduced many user errors and thus led to invoice and payment discrepancies.
Results
- 15% increase in client revenue per year
- 99.5% client retention and 96 net promoter score (NPS)
- 98% payment accuracy in client invoicing
- 90% reduction in client invoice processing and handling
